In this workshop, we slow down and take a fresh look at the world around us using our Mind-Body Medicine tools; Forest Bathing, Creative Expression, Guided Meditation, Mindfulness, and Movement in the beautiful outdoors of Portland, Oregon.
In this workshop, you'll learn to see the extraordinary in the ordinary, while taking time out for you, reducing stress, and improving your wellbeing.
Hike alone with me or in a small group. You’ll spend time outdoors in nature, walking, breathing mindfully, exploring color, texture, form, light, sound, and reflection while taking photos of the things that attract your attention. You’ll think about your relationship with the natural world and built environments, rediscover your creativity, and learn to see the world differently. All workshops are simple, low-tech and fun. You don’t need a fancy camera or expensive equipment – any mobile phone, tablet or digital camera will do – and sessions are suitable for all ages and abilities. You start off with a centering meditation, exploring our inner world, before going on a gentle walk at our chosen location. As we walk, we talk and explore creativity in an open, calm, and mindful way. The focus of this workshop is the creative aspects of looking and seeing, and creating photographs while being in the present moment. You do not need previous experience with mindfulness, photography or meditation.
We will meet for coffee and tea to share our works in an art show in the near future.
